Scientists study light pollution in order to better understand the effect that it has on the climate and the ecosystem in urban areas. The thousands of lights that illuminate the cities have been shown to increase the average air temperature which contributes to the harmful effects of climate change. With this kit you will be able to help scientists by measuring and submitting your night sky brightness observations using the Globe Observer app.

Kit must be returned to the Circulation Desk at any Pasadena Public Library branch. Kits must include all items listed in record. Do not place kit inside bookdrop. Fines will be incurred for lost/damaged items.
